Issues #1 - 5 -- "Shaman" 5-issue storyline Shortly after starting his Batman career, Bruce Wayne gets hurt and stranded in Alaska during a bounty hunting expedition. A tribal shaman healer saves his life and instills in him a clear path toward continuing being Batman. There's a whole thing about spiritual masks and drug dealing via cult-lead ritual sacrifices that seems super racist by today's standards! You have been warned.

Issues #6 - 10 -- "Gothic" 5-issue storyline A mysterious man named Mr. Whisper, who cannot die, starts murdering crime bosses who have wronged him in the past. Batman, who gets caught up in the problem, remembers Mr. Whisper as Mr. Winchester from his boarding school days. Whisper finds himself in dire need to collect souls to trade with the devil in exchange for extended immortality, but will Batman thwart Whisper before it's too late? (yes)

Issues #11 - 15 -- "Prey" 5-issue storyline Both Batman and Captain Jim Gordon face blows to their reputations when the former becomes wanted by the police, and the latter catches flak for not stopping all these nutso vigilantes running around town. The insecure Dr. Hugo Strange attempts to prove he is better at being Batman than Batman himself by using one Sgt. Max Cort as a proxy. Hunting, killing, kidnapping the Mayor's daughter, everything is on the table! Oh, and he also gets Batman high on hallucinogens that cause him to relive his parents' murder. Excitement awaits!

Issues #16 - 20 -- "Venom" 5-issue storyline The power-hungry Dr. Randolph Porter and the power-hungry Army General Timothy Slayton are both power-hungry! Porter develops habit-forming pills that can make individuals strong, indestructible, and ruthless. Slayton wants to create an army of Super Mans. The only one who can stop them, Batman, has become addicted to Porter's magic pills! This is a pickle of the highest degree! Will Batman succeed in thwarting the evil Porter and Slayton (yes, dingus, of course).
