Issues #1 - 8 -- "Guardian Devil" 8-issue storyline The first reboot of Daredevil since 1964 kicks off with an eight-installment run written by Kevin Smith. Yes, THAT Kevin Smith. He shoehorns in all of his Kevin Smithiness: giant speech bubbles loaded with words, film knowledge, fat-guy insecurities, snarky religious commentary. A supposedly immaculately-conceived antichrist baby drops in Matt Murdock's lap, and after seven issues of being drugged and gaslighted, he discovers that the larger plot surrounding the whole scheme is the doing of a single, sad individual indeed.
