Ultimate Spider-Man (Vol. 1)

Ultimate Spider-Man (Vol. 1) storylines

Issues #1 - 7 -- "Power and Responsibility" We all know this story! Spider bites nerd. The end. The first seven issues cover Peter Parker's humble beginnings as Spider-Man: getting used to new powers, earning money in fighting rings, grieving the death of his Uncle Ben (spoiler alert!), and dealing with the Green Goblin after Norman Osborn goes nutso cuckoo! It's like Tobey McGuire is RIGHT HERE with you! 7-issue storyline
Issues #8 - 13 -- "Learning Curve" Peter Parker gets a job at the Daily Bugle and uses his super Year 2001 internet skills to discover Wilson Fisk, NYC's kingpin, is untouchable by the press. Well, Spider-Man intends to touch Fisk quite invasively! This, plus close-calls with his secret identity being revealed, plus close-calls with, you know, dying, makes this endeavor more difficult that he had imagined. This little shitbird humbles up a little bit. PLUS, he's got a secret to tell MJ and it's not in his pants. At least not this time. 6-issue storyline
Issues #14 - 21 -- "Double Trouble" Doctor Otto Octavius wakes from his coma and starts remembering bits and pieces of the Osborn Labs explosion, his horrible disfigurement, and Peter Parker's identity. And if all that wasn't bad enough, some crocodile hunter-type named Kraven is making a publicity stunt out of killing Spider-Man on live television. Shit's getting real, is all. 8-issue storyline
Issues #22 - 27 -- "Legacy" The Green Goblin is back, and he's greener and goblinier than ever before. Norman and Harry Osborne show up after a lengthy absence as if nothing happened, and Norman has a giant beef with Peter Parker. If he doesn't quit the Spider-Man routine, then Norman is going to fuck him up six ways 'til Sunday. Does Parker get out unscathed?? Probably not! 6-issue storyline
Issues #28 - 32 -- "Public Scrutiny" Some motherfucker is dressing up as Spider-Man and committing horrible crimes all over town! This masked criminal becomes so dangerous that the police end up shooting Peter Parker through his shoulder! Laughing my ass off here, kids. While this is all happening, Gwen Stacy lives at the Parker household, which completely pisses off MJ. That's some funny stuff, too! What a funny storyline! 5-issue storyline
Issues #33 - 39 -- "Venom" Peter Parker finds old tapes and files documenting the scientific pursuits of his father and his partner, Eddie Brock, and their progress on curing cancer. He catches up with Eddie Brock Jr., who is continuing their fathers' work at the local university. There is, however, something strange and sinister about the substance that they were developing. Sure, it may one day be the path to the cancer cure, but it also turns you into a crazy-ass demon thing. It's the price you have to pay for your health, I always say. 7-issue storyline
Issues #40 - 45 -- "Irresponsible" A Latverian teenager named Geldoff is using his mutant powers to blow up cars in order to impress the ladies. Spider-Man tries to talk him out of using his powers for destructive purposes, but then the X-Men show up to whisk Geldoff away to submit him for testing as a rare case of human/mutant hybridism! While Parker is out absent for days at a time, Aunt May thinks he's dead at the hands of Spider-Man! lmao! Isn't that nuts? DOESN'T SHE KNOW?? 6-issue storyline
Issues #46 - 53 "Cats & Kings" Peter Parker gets upset and disillusioned when he learns that Wilson Fisk beat a murder charge and now roams free. He gets so upset that his outbursts cause him to be suspended from school and fired from his job! Good thing he's got MJ! D'oh! Her father won't let her near him! And to make matters worse, a woman who calls herself "Black Cat" enters his life as well. What's a 15-year-old to do about all this riff-raff I tells ya? 8-issue storyline
